Hi! Thanks for your comment. Using chickens instead of cows for human consumption might ease environmental problems and might be a better conversion of plant matter, but that does not solve the injustice issue. The status of chickens as endangered or not also does not change the injustice issue. And, a symbiotic relationship does not mean moral agents may abuse symbionts; hence, the injustice issue still remains.

Your sentiment is quite odd at the end there. Humans do not compete with chickens for civil liberty. We absolutely dominate them, breed them into the billions, and kill them in the same numbers. Humans can “come first” while also choosing lifestyles that are less harmful. I don’t really think that we need to triage these discriminations as you suggest. We can walk and chew vegan gum at the same time.

Queer folks have a rich history of fighting injustice. All this article was getting at was that we should take a second look at the implications of raising money from tortured feathered bodies for the civil rights of LGBTQ folks!
